Dear Supporter

At the heart of the vision for Urban Green Newcastle is the need to increase opportunities for local people to collaborate, and to make our wonderful green spaces safe, welcoming and accessible for everyone across the city, irrespective of their needs or background.

This is so important to us, it is built into our charitable objectives. Our Articles of Association set out the need to establish a community representation group, which can advise us on how best to reach people and be fully inclusive.

We are delighted that, following extensive discussion and consultation over the most appropriate format for this group, we are now launching Urban Green Connect. This will be an advisory panel, providing ideas, insight and advice on how best to reach those groups who are seldom heard, to ensure that we are fully engaging with as wide a cross-section of the community as possible.

We are currently seeking applications for the panel, and are particularly interested in hearing from those individuals or groups with whom we currently don’t have regular contact, or who feel that our green spaces offer little for them.

Further information on the panel is available, along with an application form, on our website. The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is 5pm on Friday 16th October 2020.

As one of our key stakeholders, we would be delighted if you could support us by sharing these details with as wide a network as possible.

Thank you
