Newcastle City Council intends to undertake road resurfacing work, followed by remarking work, on St. Lawrence Road. The proposed days for the works are Saturday 10 July and Sunday 11 July, with works running from 12 noon on Saturday and 9.00am Sunday until about 5.00pm each day.

The affected stretch of St. Lawrence Road is between the Fish with Two Heads and Jewson/BEL Valve junctions. The road here will be closed to all vehicles during works, except works' vehicles.  It will be reopened to vehicles during the evening, although the road will not be a finished standard.

Traffic-management signage showing diversions will be deployed.  At this early stage, pedestrian access around the works is not anticipated to be affected. Caution will be required by pedestrians in the presence of working machinery. A temporary bus stop to replace the one on St. Lawrence Road is anticipated.
