Plans for new townhouses and apartments next to Free Trade Inn

Newcastle City Council has received two new planning applications for sites close to neighbourhood-favourite Free Trade Inn. One application concerns building seven new townhouses, and the other fifty apartments. The references for each are shown below, and the applications viewed by clicking on the link below.

Partial demolition of warehouse (50 Walker Road) and erection of seven townhouses (Class C3) with associated vehicle access from Saint Lawrence Road. Site bounded by Saint Lawrence Road to the south and Walker Road to the north, Newcastle upon Tyne NE6 1BG

• Planning Application ref: 2019/0974/01/DET (50 new apartments)

Erection of 2 to 5 storey building comprising of 50 no. residential units (Class C3) (28 x 1 bed, 11 x 2 bed, 10 x 3 bed and 1 x 4 bed) with associated car parking (32 spaces), cycle parking (50 spaces), infrastructure and landscaping. Land to the east of Free Trade Inn, Saint Lawrence Road, Newcastle upon Tyne
