Council’s Budget - Interactive budget simulator launched to help save £20m
The People’s budget simulator has been launched for the second time to help the council save £20m forced by government cuts and rising costs. The award-winning tool is being used to help people see the difficult decisions the council is faced with and encourage engagement to help set a balanced budget. The council is looking to save £20m next financial year and is part of a three-year plan to save £60m in total. The interactive tool allows people to see how every decision has a potential impact on the delivery of services. This is reinforced with breaking news headlines to try and hit home the real-life impact on the delivery of services. Have your say on the budget by submitting your own proposals here.
