Merchants' Wharf residents staying at home and having fun

Residents of St. Peter's Merchants' Wharf have recently been staying at home and coming together socially in their award-winning courtyard.

Prompted by the Coronavirus pandemic and to boost residents' spirits, volunteer residents have successfully organised a string of social events including a Victory in Europe Party and a Seventies-TV gameshow afternoon to name a few.

Over three-quarters of Merchants' Wharf's residents have turned out for the events, each time of course keeping a safe distance from each other.

The events and residents have also enjoyed the perfect setting of Merchants' Wharf's award-winning courtyard, which is looked after by a group of resident Merchants' Wharf gardeners and their friends.

Yesterday's Bank Holiday social in Merchants Wharf also included a charitable collection to raise funds and support for Byker COVID-19 Mutual Aid Group.
