Long-term resident Jennifer Lassalle has died.
She was a proud eccentric, and was loved by her many friends across the neighbourhood. She will be sorely missed.
Jenny and her husband David were among the first new residents when Merchants Wharf was built over thirty years ago. She was always a great advocate for her courtyard.
Along with her friend and neighbour Carol, Jenny in recent years led the way in turning around the fortunes, and looks, of the courtyard garden there. Both were also very much involved in the sourcing of plants and replanting of the neighbourhood's Fish with Two Heads five years ago. Over the years, Jenny would run a pop-up refreshment post to support the neighbourhood litter picks.
Jenny served as a founding committee member for our St. Peter's Neighbourhood Association. Her commitment to selling raffle tickets at that year's Fete, ensured the Association had a grand financial start.
A very stylish and fashionable individual, one of Jenny's favourite items of clothing were her patent pink Doc. Marten boots. And one of her favourite songs, Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are made for Walking".
