Newcastle City Council will reopen its three Household Waste Recycling Centres on Monday May 11th.

Councillor Nick Kemp, Cabinet member for environment & regulatory services said: “While we have fully maintained our refuse, recycling and garden waste collections throughout the entire lockdown period, we recognise the importance of providing access to household waste and recycling centres.

“We will manage sites in line with government guidelines, with strict adherence to social distancing, so that staff and visitors are safe.

“We expect Brunswick, Byker and Walbottle sites all to be busy so I would ask visitors to be patient and to treat our staff with respect.”
