Today, for the second time this summer, twelve young people visited St. Peter's neighbourhood and donated an afternoon each of voluntary work.
Working in two groups, and helped by Headliners' and St Peter's volunteers, the young people undertook gardening and litter picking work. Subsequently, the top of Dobson Crescent enjoyed a pre-Autumn tidy up, and the Spillers' sites and St. Lawrence Road on the edge of St. Peter's were litter picked. Another 15 sacks of other people's litter were collected and then ferried away to the waste depot.
The afternoon was organised by North East charity Headliners and the Association, and was part of each young person's National Citizen Service award programme. Newcastle City Council also helped by loaning their litter-picking kit.
