There are many benefits to encouraging more people to walk and cycle including improving physical and mental health as well as improving the environment.

The City has invested in walking and cycling routes over the years, but it is known that there is more to be done.

Newcastle City Council is developing a walking and cycling plan that demonstrates commitment to investing in improvements to encourage walking and cycling in the city, but it is necessary to understand the real-life experience of living, working, socialising and getting around in your area.

We are asking you to make your contribution to our local walking and cycling plan by taking part in our survey and telling us about the places that you need to get to in your locality and why. The consultation is open until 8 March 2019, please visit the link here to find out more and to take part https://newcastlewalkingcyclingroutes.commonplace.is/:
