COVID-19 regulations have caused volunteers to curtail their usual festive activities around the neighbourhood. However a Festive programme of activities is nevertheless on offer for residents and people who work in St. Peter's to participate and contribute.
1. Window Displays
For Christmas, St. Peter’s Neighbourhoood Association thought it might be nice to bring some light and Christmas cheer to our neighbourhood with Christmas Window Displays and a Festive Walking Map.
To take part, we would like you to:
We will create a St. Peter’s Walking Map of all the Windows. All residents and businesses are invited to take part. No need to be an expert, or even competent!
PLEASE MENTION THIS ONE TO YOUR NEIGHBOURS AND COLLEAGUES. YOU MIGHT ALL BE INTERESTED IN TAKING PART.
2. Foodbank Collection
As with previous years, we are also hoping to organise a foodbank collection to support local Newcastle East people and families. Of course, this will be subject to ongoing COVID-19 regulations in December, and if it cannot take place before Christmas, then the collection will happen in the New Year. (UPDATE: A Festive Appeal Collection has been organised to take place Friday 18th and Staurday 19th Decmber to benefit the cutomers of nearby Byker Commuity Centre).
3. Fundrasier Raffle
Finally, we were also planning our annual Neighbourhood Festive Fundraising Raffle for the Association. This typically finances our running costs. It also provided this summer the funds for the donation of £200 to Newcastle East Foodbank. At the start of tehmonth, we had received two offers of raffle prizes, so the raffle has been postponed.
In the meantime, if you want to give the Assocation some money, then a cheque or BACS transfer are very welcome. Please get in touch with secretary@stpetersnewcastle.co.uk and please advise what you want to do help.
