As St. Peter's new Village was planned nearly thirty years ago

It was Henry Ford (US car manufacturer and engineer 1863 - 1947) who said: "Nothing is particulary hard if you divide it into small parts." And this what Barratt Homes did when nearly thirty years ago, along with Tyne and Wear Development Corporation, they planned the new St. Peter's village bringing riverside homes, workplaces and jobs to Newcastle.

Have a look at the attached advertisement PDF and see what was envisaged.  The Yacht Club, some very long pontoons on the Tyne, Trinity Courtyard's pool and a block of Offices (possibly including a corner shop) did not happen, but much of what was planned is still with us today.
